FAQs

What is a Villa Consultant and how can they help me?

A Villa Consultant is someone who has excellent knowledge of a particular area or region; in my case it is Cape Town and surrounding areas.  Consultants are able to give you excellent and honest advice with regards to your enquiry. Based on their knowledge, they would be in a position to put forward suggestions according to your budget and specific requirements.

What are the price ranges of villas to rent in Cape Town?

There is a huge variation in price and this would be dependent on area of choice as well as on the time of year (so dates of travel). The most expensive time to visit Cape Town would be during the summer's peak time, which would be from 10 December until the middle of January.

How do the fees for booking a villa work?

Being a Villa Consultant, I am in a position to work with the budget given and owners to find the most suitable options based on budget. I have a broad range of options and direct contact with owners.  My fees would be included in the price given. I ask for a one off admin fee of £35 to cover the cost of transferring monies to owners in South Africa.

What are the advantages to hiring a villa rather than staying in a hotel?

Hiring of a villa allows friends and family members to be together in a private setting.  It also allows a great deal of freedom and the opportunity to prepare your own food or make a traditional South African "braai" (barbeque).  Quite often, with a group, villa rental works out to be more cost effective than staying in a hotel or guest house.

Are the villas child friendly?

When looking for a villa to rent, it is important to request a child friendly villa if you’re bringing little ones with you. I can find the best suited villa for your family. Not all of the villas are child friendly and some owners prefer children from the age of 10 upwards.  It would be important to mention this as one of your criteria when searching for a suitable villa for your holiday in Cape Town. It is always the responsibility of the parents to supervise children at all times.

What staff can I expect at the villa?

Most of the villas include daily housekeeping from Monday to Friday excluding weekends and daily housekeeping. The more upmarket villas may include a butler and concierge service.  Guests may require a chef as well as babysitting service; these are all available and can easily be arranged.
